what does it mean if i found the perfect quote to sum up my thesis-- its themes, theories and motifs-- even to the point where maybe i'll even use it as a chapter title, or at the very least on one of the inside pages before the introduction, so it's almost the first thing you see.. but that the quote happens to be:

"what would a ghost from outerspace want with yesterday's   newspaper?"

-fred, from scooby-doo

IT SAYS IT ALL

OH MY GOD

THIS ISN'T FAIR

WHERE IN THE FUCKING JELLYBEAN PAPER DOES IT SAY WHETHER OR NOT YOU CAN USE RETARDED SCOOBY DOO QUOTES???

To be fair, all the Scooby Doo characters are based on the 5 college consortium, and I believe Fred is supposed to be Amherst. By simple transitivity, everything Fred says is on an Amherst-level of intellectual merit. So long as you aren't quoting that stoner Shaggy of Hampshire you're all bueno.
